Frequently Asked Questions:
"Will this turn my skin green?"
It's copper. There's a good chance it will, yes. Copper produces a patina as a way of protecting itself. Keeping your jewelry dry and clean can help reduce this rub-off. See my "Caring and Feeding of Copper Jewelry" page to learn more about care. Otherwise, you should probably know that silver will turn your skin black for the same reasons without a plating of rhodium.
"I hear copper is good for a lot of chronic pain ailments, such as arthritis, is this true?"
There is no real clinical evidence that copper is useful in curbing chronic pain, however, many people, including the jeweler's parents and grandparents, swear by it. It absolutely cannot hurt to try. At the worst, you have cool jewelry!
"Is this all you have right now?"
We don't always post everything we have online. In fact, we have a lot of very cool show-only pieces including wire wrapped rings in both copper and sterling silver.
"I saw this necklace that I really liked, but somebody bought it before I could. Is there another one?"
All of our jewelry is one-of-a-kind. We do, however, take custom orders.
"How do I make a custom order?"
Email us here and use the subject "Custom Order Request".
"Why are your prices what they are, I mean, it's just copper, not a NICE metal like silver!"
All artists deserve to be paid for their time and materials, PERIOD. Copper is not "cheap" and it is definitely real and "nice". But no, it is not a precious metal such as silver, gold, platinum, and palladium. I do have some silver pieces, but they're few and far between because of overhead costs. The gemstones we use are genuine and also not "cheap". You are free to shop elsewhere if you disagree with pricing.
"Which gemstone should I wear to make me feel XYZ?"
We're the type of rockhounds that like gems because they are "pretty" rather than a specific spiritual component, but will gladly work with any materials on request if you find something that speaks to you.
